who is behind bam hair?

My Story

Im Amy the founder of Bam Hair

My dream since I started doing hair was to have my own brand, and here we are.

Being hair obsessed im always trying the latest hair tools and products to try on myself and my clients but ive always needed my own brand as ive had so many ideas for new products, something unique to me. Something I 100% believe in, need for myself and will use. Throughout the years Instagram has played a huge part in my life, it has helped my business grow so much. Having a following on instagram has allowed me to grow in ways I could have only dreamed. Id like to think I know what girls like which is what I based Bam Hair product design predominantly on. Knowing whats current and keeping up with trends has allowed me to open my mind and design tools that I know girls like me need in their bag for nights out, brunches, pre drinks, and yes those after partys when youve had 1 too many, you and your friend are in the toilet looking in the mirror, your hairs a mess and neither you or your friend has a brush, not good! Knowing the struggle of trying to dry your hair like your hairdresser does but you just cant because your hairdryer isn’t the best and girl you aren’t a hairdresser so thats ok! I absolutely know! So I thought right, I need to do this for my girls.

Bam HairCreating Bam Hair was not easy. it took me months and months to get each product right, im extremely picky so ensuring that each product was exactly how I wanted it was hard. I was constantly back and forth with the manufacturers which were a nightmare but I stuck by my guns and got what I want! if something isn't 100% then why do it! I had to make it perfect, if I wouldn't buy it im not going to sell it to you guys! Every day im constantly thinking of what I can bring to Bam Hair and im ever designing new products for everyone to enjoy.

My personal Journey & creating Bam Hair

it sounds so cliché but my journey started in the spare room in my mams house when I was 18/19. I styled my friends hair for her leavers ball, I posted the photo on Instagram and BOOM, I had girls messaging me asking if they could book their prom hair with me. At this point I was already doing hair extensions, my clientele wasn’t huge but It was growing, the power of social media is crazy. 6 months later I was working 9-5 throughout the months of may June and July making prom girls feel like little princesses and it was the most rewarding thing ive ever done, I didn’t go to my prom so I guess I lived it through the girls. On the days I wasn’t doing prom hair I was fitting hair extensions. When I was 19 I moved out into my first house and converted the spare bedroom into a mini salon and worked from there for a few years, I loved every second of it, especially when youve had 1 too many the night before and can have the extra 30 min in bed! As my clientele and business grew, I grew as a person, I I realised I couldn’t work from home forever, it just wasn’t realistic. I also wanted to work alongside other professionals, and help each other grow! I saved and saved and got my baby AMY BAM Hair and Beauty Studio. As the saying goes, blood, sweat and tears went into her, months of planning and changing my mind on colour schemes but it was so worth it! Ok so now at this point, I have a decent following, a good clientele, a salon, what else can I do now? I honestly thought that designing your own brand was something that only celebrities and designers could do. So many questions went through my head, how do you do it? what colours would I choose? who do I get to manufacturer? how much will it cost? I thought, im gonna do it! Creating Bam Hair was not easy. it took me months and months to get each product right, sampling products, liking them but not LOVING them. im extremely picky so ensuring that each product was exactly how I wanted it was hard.

I hope my lil story will give someone the confidence to be who you want to be, and do what you want to do, there is no limit!
